Building the HFSC

Construction of the Healey Family Student Center began in the summer of 2013 and was completed by September 2014.

The architect for the main building project and the Hilltoss was the New Jersey-based firm ikon.5, which specializes in university buildings.  Hilltop Tap Room(formerly Bulldog Tavern) was designed by Buell Kratzer Powell, based in Philadelphia.

The main contractors for the building were based from the Whiting-Turner company. Whiting-Turner also recently completed the new Thompson Athletic Center, which opened in 2016.

Thank you to the residents of New South and Village A during the 2013-2014 school year for your patience throughout the construction of the Healey Family Student Center.  We appreciate all of your input throughout the full completion of the new student center.  We are pleased that we can bring you a modern “living room” of campus where students can gather for studying or activities!
